Pastor Minchin
Surrender; Live By Faith
"This is My Story; This is My Song"
This sermon, delivered at the week of prayer in Takoma Park, Maryland that saw the attendance of thousands, makes an earnest appeal for young people to give their lives to God, and to live faith-driven lives likee so many Christian heroes have done before them.
Prayer
The three sermons that follow are wonderful. My favorite is the first, but they are all excellent.
When I Find It Hard to Pray
In this sermon Pastor shares some of the key concepts found in the book Steps to Christ.

Recommended Books On Prayer
Steps to Christ and With Christ in the School of Prayer were recommended in the course of these sermons on prayer. The key chapter is included directly below, and Murray's book after that.
Ellen White, Steps to Christ, Ch. 11 "The Privilege of Prayer"
The chapter comes from one of the most practical books you can find on what it means to be a Christian. It should be required reading for all Christians.

Andrew Murray, With Christ in the School of Prayer
Murray's book consists of 31 short chapters on various teachings of the Scriptures on prayer. It has helped many people learn how to pray. Murray was a Dutch Reformed pastor who ministered in South Africa in the 1800s. Fleming Revell published many of the books of Andrew Murray. This was the same company Ellen White used in publishing the first edition of Steps to Christ.

How To Make Surrender Real
In this very helpful sermon, Pastor Minchin gave suggestions for really surrendering, in giving God each part of our bodies. This sermon was almost always given wherever he was holding meetings.

"We were very pleased to have Brother Len Minchin, the Young People's Secretary of the South N.S.W. Conference, with us for a few days. When speaking to us in the Friday evening meeting, he introduced his subject as "something very simple, but very vital." The thought was emphasised that it is impossible to have close communion with Jesus, as friend with friend, if we do not empty our hearts of all the rubbish that would prevent His coming in. The latch of our heart's door is on ourselves. Christ will not force His way in, but patiently stands and knocks."—AAR, October 2, 1933
